Attingham Park and The National Trust

Attingham Park is stately again,
Grand tour delights inside.
No nobles now to strut and stride,
Or servants to whisper asides.

But elderly guides, all volunteers,
Vying with expertise,
Talk over each other's visitors
With some more spritely reprise.

Laying claim to vicarious status,
They boast about who they know.
"For I had it from my daughter,
Who is a C.E.O."
